Drivers / Operators / Laborers
Location: Des Moines
Pay: Hourly wage starting at $18/hour (higher for qualified individuals)
Job Description:
- Responsible for calculation and placement of highway markings in accordance with federal and state standards and regulations. Employee is responsible for the safety of the public and people working within the pavement marking zone.
- Work will be reviewed by a supervisor during progress and upon completion to maintain performance according to established standards.
Job requirements:
- Control the direction of traffic patterns and place pavement markings in compliance with state and federal code.
- Operation of paint equipment, generators, hand grinders and blowers. Maintain tools and related equipment in serviceable condition.
- Capable of lifting 50-75 pounds on a regular basis.
- Perform daily vehicle inspection.
- When not performing regular responsibilities, drivers may perform other duties, including, but not limited to cleaning and general labor duties.
- Perform related work as required.
- Class B CDL with air brake endorsement required. Must have a good driving record.
- Knowledge of hand tools, portable generators and related equipment.
- Knowledge of occupational hazard associated with this type of work.
- Ability to communicate on a 2-way radio.
- Must be able to read and follow maps.
- Maintain a harmonious relationship with fellow employees and the public.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
